![]() Yeah, it would've been nice to get 48G ("Ultra High Speed") with 2.0, but my guess is the cable industry couldn't handle that yet (not sure when this was written, but it's a good read from a prominent cable manufacturer who is well-trusted in the industry). Huh? The single biggest limitation for video is bandwidth, and current HDMI <= 2.0 tops out at 18Gbps (and cable manufacturers had a hard enough time making decent cables that could handle 18Gbps that the HDMI association had to add a "Premium" High Speed cable certification that is absolutely no different than the previous High Speed/18Gbps cable spec except it has more tests). While HDMI for digital video is a moving target of constant upgrades to the standard (why the hell it couldn't be released with a little future proofing and in a LTS model.)
